Jimmy Howard Obituary

James William “Jimmy” Howard, 89, husband of the late Mary Burden Howard, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Cedar Ridge Health Campus.

Born December 21, 1936 in Harrison County to the late Thurman “Nick” & Thelma Louise Slade Howard, he was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked in maintenance at several area factories over the years, including Square D, Rockwell, CMC and Kawneer.

Surviving are 2 children, Grant Alan Howard (Amanda Aldridge) & Jamie Marie Howard (Brian) Kinsey; his grandchildren: Ryan (Katie) Howard and their daughter Addison, Aaron Howard, Alexa Williams, Alex (Hannah) Kinsey & Cameron (Courtney) Kinsey.

Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Amanda Blake Howard; 2 brothers, Harold E. & Ronald L. “Ronnie” Howard; a sister, Ethelyne Howard Schanding; and a great-granddaughter, Hallie James Howard.

Services will be 8:00P.M. Thursday, February 26th at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 5:00 P.M.

A private family burial with military honors will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.
